Question on 3.1.18.0

I just recompiled what I thought was the source for 3.1.18.0 (I did a fresh git clone), but upon running /usr/local/snort/bin/snort -V after compiling and linking, I get it reporting 3.1.17.0...?  Has the git repository been reverted for some reason, or did someone forget to update the version number?
