I don't know the details of the platform you are referring to. It is
unlikely that you will be able to download, run make and install on that
platform. This would involve cross compiling the snort application for that
platform, and this can be a bit involved - but doable. Various researchers
have done similar tasks, for e.g. cross compiling snort for the intel IXP
platform has been done long time back. ( Ref: Microsoft Word - np3.doc

In short - it may not be straightforward but is doable
