two quick things to consider before tonights meeting

two brief points before the meeting tonight...

1) in the zip I sent it mentioned that there weren't guaranteed deliveries,
 but that's not necessarily true - we can choose whether we want guaranteed,
 best effort, or minimal effort attempts and have acks propogated a couple
of different ways (all, of course, with different security, latency,
and bandwidth implications).

2) what I'd like to have come out of the meeting is an agreement or disagreement
whether iip should split the irc system in half - application layer irc,
 and generic anonymous message delivery system. now I know everyone says
that thats a goal eventually, but I'm talking about "ok, next steps"
kind of goal.  If there's agreement there, I'd like to see a pair of
groups formed - people working on how the message delivery system will
work, and people working on how irc will work (those two groups are not
exclusive, but require different skills).  Prior to those two groups
actually splitting off and crunching, we need to agree both on what responsabilities
the message delivery system has and on a standard of how to interact
with it.  Perhaps we can discuss some of that standard this week, or
work on some drafts and come to agreement by next week.

I know point 2 is kind of being pushy but I'd like to get some traction
going so that we can get this to market asap (as I'm sure everyone understands,
 there are tremendous demands for a generic anonymous message delivery
system with huge implications for more than just instant messaging :)

Plus, yesterday I gave my company notice that I'm leaving them to work
on this fulltime, so in ~2 weeks my every waking hour will be documenting,
 testing, and cutting code.
