Getting Squidguard to work in the manner the 1.4 addon worked is the easy part (although not the cleanest way to the system) plus provisions for urlfilter are already in the built in advanced proxy so the web gui patches for proxy are not needed. Getting the urlfilter cgi and scripts married up to the current system layout is what is really needed. There is one change I made in my own installation in autoupdate.pl on 1.4.21 since mine uses a flash install and a mounted ramdisk and that is to have it use /tmp which runs in /ram/tmp for flash installs during update to save 45 minutes of CF drive thrashing. Since ram is so much faster, it takes three minutes to update lists and then copies the updated lists to the urlfilter directory. In all IPCop 2 versions, hard disk or flash, /tmp is mounted in memory using TMPFS so I suggest using that rather than the actual /var/ipcop/urlfilter directory during updates of what will be urlfilter in all installations. Perl could be used instead of wget to download updated lists. The addon added libdb to a system that did not contain it whereas libsqlite does exist in 2.0 already so again if libsqlite would be possible to use it would be one more step of using what is there already.
