Hello IPCOP developers, i have a general problem regarding the e1000 driver in combination with a HP NC 6170 dual fiberchannel Gigabit NIC. It seems, that the driver is in most of the cases (it's working in 1% of the cases) not able to readout the firmware from a NC6170 to detect the MAC-address of the FC-Ports (many cards tested - same result). I have red many posts in forums regarding this topic and this "firmware crc" error the driver throws seems to be a general problem (as far as i know, there is a patch available - but i don't know if this is official or not). BTW: if the driver throws the "firmware crc" error, the MAC-addresses of both ports are shown within the IPCOP with the MAC: 00:00:00:00:00:00 - so maybe you can imagine, that with this MAC, no communication is possible at all. So the question: is such a problem known? Does a solution exists regarding this issue? Thx a lot in advance for help! Best regards. Harald Richter PS: if you want me to test something, I could do that of course. PPS: I am using IPCOP 1.4.21 for many years on a thinclient hardware with a NC6170 card, and it's working really fine and stable. But due the fact, that a identical configured thinclient doesn't want to work under IPCOP 2.x, I am not able to upgrade :-( ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
