ipcop is connected to the verizon router through an ethernet switch. There are two other devices on that network, that will be moving to the orange network soon. The verizon router is running the DHCP server, and issues addresses just fine to the 3 devices. Until recently I was running ipcop 1.4.something, which worked fine for many years. I finally got around to getting some lower power/newer hardware and upgraded. I had a long power failure that exceeded the capability of the UPS, and thus found this problem where ipcop won't bring the red interface back up. If you noticed from my other email, configuring red to be static does work fine.
