Seems so -

But as a newcomer (of sorts) at least there are still people welcoming new 
users to the list, and
there is some support, so its still at least alive to that level.

I forgot that I had joined this email list back in Jan 2001 with my first 
post titled: [IPCop-user] VOIP device locked out

This was back when V 1.4 was still viable, and I also had trouble figuring 
out how the updates went in.

Actually ran v 1.4x for all that time with no hardships that I can see. Im 
the kinda person that figures, if something
isnt broke, no need to fix it.

Regarding the updates on 2.x - I only see (1) that brings us up to 2.19 , or 
are there more someplace?

Back then I actually burned a CD that I labeled : IPcop 2 , and when I went 
to install it recently , there was a peculiarity
that made it not install, so I downloaded the latest ISO posted on sf, which 
went more or less ok.

Im using anold P3-500 with 128mb of ram. V1.4 was using a cf card, and I 
decided to keep that around as a backup plan "B"
and I threw in an old Fujitsu 4.3gb IDE hdd that I have had for ages, and 
still spins up and works great.

At one point I was going to use another drive, and it had problems being 
detected in BIOS, actually caused some long beep codes and would not
allow her to boot....and believe it or not, it made weird characters show up
when I was installing ipcop, which led me to believe something was weirded 
out big time.

Something said, check the battery and sure enough the cmos battery was less 
than 3 volts. Once I replaced that, the installation went fine.

Ah, nothing like working on the older gear ! But very kool to still make use 
of this older stuff laying around.
