JOB DESCRIPTION

Position:       Security Engineer
Location:       Chantilly, Virginia, United States
Type:           Permanent F/T

Closing Date:   2008-06-30

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Top Secret is required and have been granted SCI eligibility. 

Day to day responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to: 
&#149; Conducting vulnerability assessments against computers and network infrastructures 
&#149; Limited incident handling as a first responder 
&#149; Performing as a trusted advisor on topics related to information security and the handling of classified information 
&#149; Evaluating new / custom information technology products to provide the customer with a risk / benefit estimate understanding of the technology in question 
&#149; Performing information security training 


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Candidates for this position must possess either a Bachelor&#146;s degree in a computer science-related field and at least two years of applicable information security experience, or four years of applicable information security experience. 

This position constitutes the primary resource for information security expertise at this physical location; therefore, in addition to a working knowledge of vulnerability assessment and DOD information security guidance, a successful candidate should have the following: 

&#149; An understanding of certification and accreditation (C&A) policies and procedures; DIACAP and NIST methodologies are preferred, but DITSCAP is acceptable. 
&#149; The ability to quickly comprehend new / custom technology, research the potential vulnerabilities of this technology, and present sound guidance to the customer regarding the risks / benefits of using this technology. 
&#149; Experience in the areas of access control, auditing and accountability, malicious code identification and removal 
&#149; Experience in security incident reporting and response 
&#149; Experience in network intrusion detection 
&#149; Network configuration management 
&#149; Strong written and verbal communication skills 
&#149; The ability to prepare and provide information security training in a classroom-style environment 
&#149; The ability to prepare and deliver formal information security policy, procedures and guidance. 
&#149; The ability to work diligently without close supervision.
