Overview

Security Compass is a consulting and training company that focuses on application security. With our open source testing tools, conference talks, training classes, books, articles, and interviews, we are recognized as leaders in the field of securing applications. We are quickly growing and are looking for highly motivated, creative individuals to join our practice as consultants/trainers. We are looking for the brightest and most enthusiastic intermediate and senior web application security consultants who have a proven track record of constantly exceeding expectations. Candidates should have a background in either software development or information security. Our consultants perform application security reviews (threat analysis, source code review, application penetration testing) and teach classes on information security. Consultants are encouraged to spend some time researching the security topics and speaking at the security conferences that they are most interested in.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Skills

Non-technical

* Extensive report writing and presentation delivery experience

* Attention to detail and professionalism
* Proven leadership experience

* Ability to teach classes and present at conferences on information security
* Willingness to learn and able to take constructive criticism
* Enthusiastic, optimistic attitude
* Any community/open-source involvement considered an asset

Technical
* Minimum of 4 year undergraduate, university degree. Preference for Master’s degree or above
* Intermediate: 2-5 years experience in software development or information security
* 5+ years experience in information security for advanced
* Security professionals must have experience in web application penetration testing, source code review, and/or threat modeling
* J2EE or .Net experience a must for candidates with a development background; strong preference for .Net experience
* Software development experience, including OOA&D (i.e. design patterns, can understand UML, etc.) a must for candidates with a development background
* CISSP, CEH, GIAC certifications an asset; other certifications valued as well

Other
* Preference to local candidates in or around Toronto, Seattle, or New York areas; however, any candidate located in North America who can work in both the US and Canada will be considered and is encouraged to apply
* Willingness to travel (50%)
