Position: Sales Engineer
Location: San Jose, California, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2008-07-20
We are currently looking for an experienced technical sales specialist to aid in the attainment of the Web Gateway business unit’s quarterly and annual revenue goals.
Responsibilities
Manage technical engagements with large prospects.
Contribute to business unit forecasts.
Oversee and consult with Secure Computing Corporation’s worldwide network of sales engineers to properly represent the company's Web Gateway and web reporting products.
Be the “go to person” for all technical related issues for the Web Gateway.
Assist in RFP preparation for large Enterprise class deals.
Maintain a positive relationship with the Product Management and Development organizations and provide them technical input for feature development.
Provide product management with input on new features and technical requirements for the Web Gateway and web reporting products.
Provide training for Secure Computing’s SE force as well as channel/partners on how to technically sell and demo the Web Gateway, competitive landmines to set, and troubleshooting the Web Gateway.
Assist with the development of technical marketing materials.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must be an articulate and persuasive advisor who is able to communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical prospects.
Must have strong working knowledge of the Web Gateway industry, competitors, and techniques to create a comprehensive Web Gateway architecture.
Must have a solid understanding of information technology and information security.
Must have creative thinking skills to overcome technical objections.
BS degree or equivalent experience.
7+ year track record of outstanding technical sales results selling security and networking related software/hardware products.
A strong history of assisting sales quota attainment on a regular basis.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
A real independent self-starter driven to succeed and close business.
Strong reference list that includes peers, supervisors, partners and customers.
Strong technical solution-selling background with demonstrable experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred.
Government compliance
ILP/DLP
Web security
Application security
Systems integration
Reporting and databases
Preferred Experience
Specific industry experience with the following types of companies is preferred but not required.
Web Security solutions manufacturers
Mail Security solutions providers
Application Firewall Manufacturers
Identity and Access Management solution providers
Value Added Reseller representing multiple security industry solutions
Very solid technical understanding of networking and network security technologies
President’s Club/Top Achiever award winners preferred.
CISSP qualifications a significant plus
