JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Sr. Security Analyst
Location: Brampton, Ontario, Canada
Type: Contract
Closing Date: 2008-08-14
Job Details:
• Investigate and document Technical Policies, Processes and Procedures related to Unix Security, working with company personnel to achieve understanding, agreement and implementation.
• Evaluate industry practices and products (new and existing) to determine how they can be leveraged to meet IT Security regulatory compliance (i.e. SOX/PCI-DSS).
• Establish good relationships with vendors to leverage high value from various product sets.
• Assume technical lead role to support SEM tools, Unix server scans, and other Security toolsets.
• Participate and provide mandatory and/or recommended security practices to existing and new deployments of technology into the enterprise.
• Compile, evaluate, and deliver security patch releases to Unix department for review.
• Investigate, evaluate, and recommend solutions for day-to-day security exemption requests
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Skills Required:
• Must have 5 years of working knowledge of 2 of the following 4 Unix Operating Systems as a System Administrator: AIX, Linux, Solaris, or HP-UX
• Must be fluent in scripting languages such as Korn/Bourne/Posix Shell, awk, sed, and Perl. PHP is nice to have.
• Working knowledge of Unix in the following Security related areas: SSH, SUDO, Unix User Administration, Syslog (both local and centralized logging). PowerBroker skills are nice to have.
• Fluency in SEM (Security Event Management) products (i.e. RSA enVision)
• Understanding of File Integrity / Configuration Management concepts
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, LDAP, DNS, HTTP, NFS)
• Good understanding of relational database concepts and SQL.
• Strong documentation skills using Microsoft Office products.
• Able to work with other company groups in a co-operative way.
