Position: Incident Handler
Location: Washington, District of Columbia, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2008-08-15
Incident Responders examine and analyze electronic media in support of suspected computer intrusion cases supporting both Federal and civilian organizations. After analyzing such media using a broad range of computer forensic tools, Incident Responders summarize their findings in a technical report that must be useful to other technical specialists but also understandable by laypersons. On rare occasions, Incident Responders may be required to testify in a court of law as a fact witness to the specifics of a case or as an expert witness to the computer forensic analysis process. During an intrusion investigation, Incident Responders will also be required to work with other departments and with outside organizations to develop a comprehensive incident remediation solution. Working with customer organizations in a crisis, Incident Responders must have excellent customer relationship management skills to help not just the organization, but also the individuals, through a period of unrest.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications:
• 3+ Years of Prior Experience Investigating Computer Intrusions in a Live System Environment
• 2+ Years of General Computer Forensic or Media Exploitation Experience
• 2+ Years of Report Writing Experience
• Prior Experience with EnCase, FTK, ILook, Sleuth Kit/Autopsy, MANDIANT First Response, or Other Computer Forensic Tools
• Must have completed a government background investigation
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Criminal Justice, Intelligence, or Other Related Field
• Master’s Degree Preferred
• Experience with EnCase Enterprise Edition
• 1 or More Related Certifications such as the EnCE, CFCE, CCE, or CISSP
• Programming or Scripting Ability in Perl or EnCase EnScript
• Foreign Language Ability (Nonspecific)
