As a Security Architect you provide security-focused technical management and systems solutions to large, strategic, complex system development projects involving multiple platforms, distributed processing, multi-tier client server and web-based applications. Responsibilities: Works with information Strategic Business Units (SBU) security practitioners, architects, infrastructure engineers, applications staff, business partners and other stakeholders across all of Liberty Mutual’s business units to establish organizational priorities for the security of Liberty Mutual’s computing environment while also striving to enable architectures that are modular and vendor-independent for maximum flexibility. Contributes to the technical direction on all areas of the security architecture, including policies, standards, strategies, and governance. Develops security architectural strategies and direction with all the SBUs to deliver new customer engagement models. Understands, advocates, and augments the Information Security Policy and associated Standards that have been adopted by the enterprise. Analyzes technology industry and market trends, assess the impact of emerging security threats on the enterprise risk level, recommends technology direction and/or adjustments to incorporate in the business plans. Provides consultation to Market CIO, business partners and peer groups regarding long and short-range business requirements. Reviews and ensures major architectural designs are consistent, maintainable, flexible, cost-effective and aligned with security policy. Works with application teams to identify functional requirements that drive security technology that enables business functionality. Participates with application and infrastructure architects to provide security overlays for development and deployment patterns. Develops strategies and architectures which support advanced security topics such as Vulnerability Lifecycle, Management, Identity Management, Intrusion Detection, Authentication, Authorization and Auditing. Responsible for prototyping complex, cross platform business solutions to validate newer technologies. Recommends emerging technological solutions to increase market share and reduce operational costs. Analyzes the technology industry and market trends to determine potential impact on the business and incorporates these into business plans. Influences the selection of security related hardware and software product standards and the design of standard configurations; accountable for security centric, architectural roadmaps and principles. JOB REQUIREMENTS --------------------------------------------------- Bachelor's or Master's degree in technical discipline; Master's preferred. 10 years of architecture experience in IT Security in a complex, multi platform distributed environment. Microsoft/Windows platform, .NET, Active Directory experience are required and MOSS/SharePoint is a plus. Experience in several platforms or technologies; experience in delivering solutions across multiple technologies; extensive experience with model driven approaches. Skilled at leveraging new and existing software and technology within the security domain. In-depth knowledge in security trends; proficient in new and emerging technologies. Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills. In-depth understanding of business operations, objectives and strategies including but not limited to, insurance industry, financial services, global business and technology trends.
