ICANN has been a leader in the development of internet security protocols=
 for Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC) which provides authe=
ntication in the root zone of the internet.  Additionally, as a public be=
nefit, not-for-profit global organization, ICANN is responsible for the s=
tability, interoperability, and commercial viability of the internet.=0D

We are seeking a DNSSEC Operations Manager to join our team as we move to=
 the next phase in DNSSEC deployment throughout the root zone. This uniqu=
e position will provide the opportunity to lead strategy and planning, ac=
quisition and deployment, and operational management aspects of ICANN&#14=
6;s DNSSEC role.=0D
=0D
Initial responsibilities will include the build out of a world-class oper=
ational infrastructure for DNSSEC, working with stakeholders to continue =
to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementa=
tions, conduct research, hands-on operational control, and much more.=0D
=0D
Leading candidates will have the following qualifications:=0D
=0D
•	Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols,=
 and standards including DNS, IPv6 and preferably DNSSEC and/or PKI.=0D
•	Excellent communication and presentation skills.=0D
•	Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development.=0D
•	Significant experience working with a globally diverse stakeholder=
 base in a collaborative team-oriented environment.=0D
•	Strong problem solving skills and ability to analyze and process h=
ighly complex problems and develop solutions.=0D

Strategy & Planning=0D
•	Lead DNSSEC operational planning and projects=0D
•	Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements=
 for new technology implementations.=0D
•	Ensure the efficient utilization of resources – including per=
sonnel and equipment =0D
•	Oversee all reports and documentation related to network and syste=
ms operations.=0D
•	Develop maintenance schedules for network and systems equipment.=0D
•	Conduct system feasibility studies and testing.=0D
•	Develop and implement all functional policies and procedures, incl=
uding those for network architecture, standards, purchasing, and service =
provision.=0D
Acquisition & Deployment=0D
•	Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgra=
de, and support of DNSSEC systems, including networks, data centers, serv=
ers, PCs, operating systems, and associated hardware.=0D
•	Analyze existing operations and make recommendations for the impro=
vement and growth of the network infrastructure and DNSSEC systems.=0D
•	Conduct research and remain current with the latest technologies a=
nd solutions in support of procurement efforts.=0D
=0D
Operational Management=0D
•	Practice asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment=
.=0D
•	Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communication=
s with the organization’s executives, department heads regarding per=
tinent DNSSEC activities.=0D
•	Oversee operations-related projects and project portfolio.=0D

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education & Certification=0D
•	Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science or informa=
tion systems (Master’s preferred) and 5 years related work experienc=
e.=0D

Knowledge & Experience=0D
•	Strong technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, in=
cluding Datacenter operations.=0D
•	Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols,=
 and standards, including DNS, DNSSEC, IPv6.=0D
•	Extensive application support experience.=0D
•	Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development.=0D
•	Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objec=
tives.=0D
•	In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.=0D
•	Strong understanding of human resource management principles, prac=
tices, and procedures.=0D
•	Strong understanding of project management principles.=0D
