Ah, now it rings a bell. D'oh, I remember a report about this issue some
time ago, but I can't remember currently if I've fixed it in 0.3.5
or not. 

How do you start Samba? Via the init scripts from SUSE? Can you
please make sure that TMPDIR is unset and try again?
