Hi, first, thanks for all the effort I see that's been put into
integrating clamav with Samba. That rocks. I'm sure that it's something
I've done wrong, but Google, reinstalling, mailing list searching, etc,
hasn't helped me yet.
Here's the current configuration.
Debian Sarge (Testing).
Samba-3.0.10-1 installed as binary.
Downloaded and built corresponding Debian source package.
Placed samba-vscan-0.3.5 tree in ${SAMBA}/source/examples/VFS/
looked at ...clamav/vscan-clamav.h
./configure
make clamav
cp vscan-clamav.so /usr/lib/samba/vfs
chmod 755 /usr/lib/samba/vfs/vscan-clamav.so
Edit working smb.conf file, adding vfs object to a single share (at this
time):
[Shared]
comment = SharedData Area
browseable = yes
writeable = yes
create mask = 0770
directory mask = 0770
locking = yes
valid users = @staff bilbrey
path = /data/Shared
vfs object = vscan-clamav.so
Passes testparm
smbd and nmbd start up fine.
When I try to access the share, this appears in the logfile in
/var/log/samba:
[2004/12/29 15:01:06, 0] smbd/vfs.c:vfs_init_custom(256)
Can't find a vfs module [vscan-clamav.so]
[2004/12/29 15:01:06, 0] smbd/vfs.c:smbd_vfs_init(319)
smbd_vfs_init: vfs_init_custom failed for vscan-clamav.so
[2004/12/29 15:01:06, 0] smbd/service.c:make_connection_snum(517)
vfs_init failed for service Shared
and I cannot connect. Comment out the vfs object line, and everything
works fine.
I'd appreciate any guidance on this problem.
