it of course means nothing, I suppose, but I have to say: I run Sophie (gcc)
under Solaris 2.8 for two years,
starting from 1.30, now running 3.04rc2 (currently with Sophos 3.78d). in
the beginning I run avcheck,
now changed to amavisd-new. and...

...I have NEVER seen Sophie hanging (mail load is about 30000 per day).
