no game on winXP SP2 with KB884020

Hi

I am running winXP2 fully patched, and I've installed the 884020 patch but 
zebedee's log still showing:

zebedee(2900/1688): 2005-05-13-17:28:03:  waiting for client connection

... and nothing happens. i've verified in two places that the patch is 
installed (Tcpip.sys is version 5.1.2600.2631. the registry key for 884020 
is present in the registry), but it still doesn't work.

Am I the only one experiencing this issue?
