Summary: Template should indicate if using left/right/both plugins
Initial Comment:
It is possible to put Sidebar items on Sidebars that
don't exist. Kubrik for example has no left sidebar.
Nevertheless, people can put plugins there and get
wondered, why it does not appear there.

This Tracker item was closed automatically by the system. It was
previously set to a Pending status, and the original submitter

As of Serendipity 1.1-alpha4, Templates can set up
options/styles to be checked via {$template_option.XXX}
within a template. This way, a left/right sidebar selection
can be indicated in the Template option.

That's not a fix. As you said: It's up to the template
author. So we need to have a flag in info.txt that tells the
API if the template has left/right/both/no sidebar. Any any
case != both, people should not be able to put plugins on
any of the templates.

I've committed a fix to Kubrick which will also print the
left sidebar. It's always up to the template author though
to make sure both sidebars get printed. The API can't be
responsible for this....

Garvin
