Initial Comment:
When trying to reply to a certain comment with a
browser having JavaScript disabled, the user gets
redirect to the archives page.

I do not expect to work this functionality with all
it's comfort in non-JS enviroments, but I expect it to
jump to the comment form at least.

This should not happen, can you point me to a site to test
this? Does it happen with the default Serendipity Template?

All the comment redirection magic happens without use of JS,
but with purely HTTP relocations in the default theme, so I
guess it could be a template-specific issue?

Clicking on "Reply" buttons below existing comments scrolls
the browser pane to the #commentform anchor, which is the
best thing we can do without javascript...so I'm not sure
what you mean?
