If I use the 1.0.4 or 1.1 event plugin for webping, I have various problems:

- always bat response:
Sende XML-RPC ping zu ping.blo.gs...Failure(Reason: Invalid return payload: enable debugging to examine incoming payload)

- often timeout:
Sende XML-RPC ping zu rpc.technorati.com...Operation timed out
Notice: Operation timed out in /var/www/itblog.eckenfels.net/data/bundled-libs/PEAR.php on line 848
Operation timed out

- does not skip to next service (especially on timeout)

- created article is not fully processed (contains UTF8 umlauts, missing <br>s.

If I save a second time the formatting is correct, the missing pings are not repeated.

Hi!

Seems that blo.gs is simply down, so we'll need to remove them from the
list of supported services.

Technorati sadly often times out. PHP is pretty bad handling timeouts or
connection errors, so there is little a PHP script can do to circumvent
them. Especialls the PEAR HTTP_Request class we use is prone to painfully
die in these situations.

You can change which plugins are executed before announcing an entry by
putting the 'announce entries' plugin on the bottom of your event plugin
listing. That should make all plugins successfully execute...
