Category: Administrative functions Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Issue Ids generated from user intials and no. not just a no. Initial Comment: Makes it much easier to discuss issues over the phone, etc i.e. not issue 1 or issue 50 etc Instead an issue number made up of the creators intials or some unique id and the next number for the user (not for the whoel system). i.e. RDW50, FORD_JDOE21 This means more information is imeadietly inferred just by the id i.e. JLR_RDW50 lets you know its a customer rather than an internal issue so may require earlier attention. Used a system for ages which had this as the issue id concept, it makes such a difference in usage.
