Hi, I think I solved the problem, but your suggestion got me back looking in the folder. On mine, I got the festival voice clips to talk, but on his, I can't even get the festival English.voice file to work. I even tried copying over my .rockbox file onto his, and it does not work. I managed to get into the files, and it works, and the volume is okay, so I know it is not that. I had my sighted son confirm that Rockbox is booting up as well. Any ideas, or can someone with a working iPod Video 5th gen with a good English.voice file send me your .rockbox folder? Also, it appears that the TTS engine on my computer does not generate talk clips either. But when I test it in the utility, it works. Thanks for any help.
