Just FYI.  Every time I would get such a message with any such destination 
device, the error was usually caused by the destination device being write 
protected or write permissions were not given.

As such, make sure you perform these tasks as root or with system administrator 
privileges, and double check write operations are really being performed by 
also checking the time/date stamps on the destination files.

So, just an FYI to make sure you're checking the time stamps!  So many times, 
I've been caught by this simple error of not having written anything to the 
device.

If files are being written, then I'm stumped.
