Child 2 looks like a Unit of Measure error to me. I no longer have access to BPCS, so I do not remember the field names. I believe they were in the IIM item master file. You might also check CIC to see if there's a variant by facility. There's a standard U/M field . for us we used units, feet, various containers. There are at least two conversion U/M, one for sales & I forget the others. Basically, under certain circumstances, you want to process some item by a different U/M than the standard. We used to get that kind of error when some vendors sent us raw materials when their invoices used a different U/M than what we stocked the parts at, then our Payroll clerk did not notice, did not realize U/M conversion was needed. You might also check to see if Child 2 appears in more than one place in the same Parent1 product structure. There might be an intermediate part step between parent1 and child2, whose settings are messing you up. On BPCS 405CD, I'd use BOM300 and SFC350 to check this.
