WDSCi will not load. I haven't tried in a while - perhaps as long ago as
4.0 - so I don't recall the specifics. As I recall, the install process
simply hung up. At this point, I don't have enough disk space left to even
give it another try (1.1 gigs left out of 8). The system requirements page
is pretty clear
http://www-3.ibm.com/software/awdtools/wdt400/sysreq/index2.html in
explaining that I need 256megs of RAM and 1.4 megs of disk (plus 500 more
during the install), so I certainly can't complain on that score.

It sure would be nice to have a smaller-footprint green-screen editor, but I
completely understand IBM's direction here. An incredibly pleasant
compromise would be some means to load individual components as opposed to
loading the whole thing and then removing unwanted bits. What would be
thrillingly stupendous would be to see a Code/400 project on
SourceForge.net, with IBM donating the current (WDT 5.1) source... Then
some enterprising individual could add V5R2 support to a small footprint
editor-only. Ah, wishful thinking!

You might have removed Code by the time I get an uprated PC that will load
WDSCi! :-)

Very nice! It's always good to hear from you Edmund!
