Todd, This used to happen to us (we also sometimes created IM batches, although our more normal approach was to use TRDATA), by far the most common cause was an RM of an item that had controlled floor stock. That automatically triggered a series of IP's in the batch of all the MODATA records for the order that were controlled floor stock (FLSTK = C), and there wouldn't be enough of the MODATA component on-hand in ST01. I would recommend writing a routine that looks through your MODATA records and checks availability of all controlled floor stock items on the order, for the extended required quantity, and if there aren't enough available, don't allow the RM. That's not that hard a routine to add, and should prevent the problem.
