7 is better than Vista in just about every way, including the number of identified bugs, so ordering Vista makes almost no sense. MS is making it hard to get XP. For example, Dell has been charging $150 extra for XP machines for over a year. If you don't want to be stuck with Vista, and you can't get XP reasonably, there's only 7. That's the reality behind the rush. I updated my home machine from Vista to 7 the week 7 came out. Best thing I've done to it, runs MUCH better.
