Steve, Call install/initial establishes (or upgrades them if necessary) the QGPL objects, AMCESLIB/AMCESSQL shared libraries and the initial AMALIB/F/T/X libs with CAS only contents. You will be prompted for the environment ID. This initial install process typically takes about 30 minutes (but evidently may be shorter/longer based on your System i performance). Please refer to informational PTF SH15588 for detailed R7.8 installation instructions. Data migration from your current R6 environment is done through a separate step - see informational PTF SH15608. Does it run interactively or will it submit something to batch? It does not populate the new environment with data from an existing environment correct, that is done separately I hope. I assume it will ask me what to name the new environment? We are converting from version 6 to 7.8 anyone have some gotchas to be aware of?
