I strongly recommend you contact your Infor affiliate for a one day deep
immersion into the XA ERP system. It is usually the case that if things
are not set up correctly they should not be done at all.  You could also
probably knock off a couple of your pending issues at the same time.

Thank you to everyone who has replied so far. 
 
OK, management has decided that backflushing is the way to go.  I have
until the end of the day to get four items with four componets setup for
backflushing.  Anyone got a 30 minute turtotral on how to set up
backflushing?
 
I found a series of manuals starting with MAPICSXA.pdf but nothing on
backflushing.
