Mark, SH48028 delivered an enhancement for XA R7.8 and R9 to allow for Save-while-Active processing of the AMFLIB/AMTLIB backup to disk. Note that even with Save-while-Active, the system needs a brief moment to obtain an exclusive lock on the library files. Customer feedback we have received shows a decrease of the time that the environment must be in dedicated mode between 70 and 95%. SH42617 delivered an enhancement for XA R7.8 and R9 to allow execution of the XA pre- and post-backup processing independent of the XA file backup. We will run the Mapics procedure at a regular frequency (weekly or monthly TBD) but not daily. Are there any issues or considerations that we would be aware of before making this procedure change?
