Save while active vs. Mapics Backup

We are considering starting to use the save while active function on a daily basis rather than running the Mapics Backup procedure daily to avoid the need to get a dedicated system. We will run the Mapics procedure at a regular frequency (weekly or monthly TBD) but not daily. Are there any issues or considerations that we would be aware of before making this procedure change?
