My employer uses Courion's PasswordCourier for this.  I don't know what it costs or exactly how it updates the non-AD systems, but we have it working to our IBM i systems, as well as Lotus Notes, without a hitch.  See http://www.courion.com/products/courion-enterprise-provisioning-suite.html.  I suspect for the i systems it's using a CL program that executes CHGUSRPRF with adopted authority.

I doubt it's the only such tool out there.  It probably wouldn't be that hard to write your own, for that matter.  Just create a front-end program that then uses the documented interfaces to change the passwords on the different systems.

Subject: [MAPICS-L] Password Changes

We require password changes every 90 days.  Ideally, we want our AD passwords to match the Mapics password.  And, we would like them both to expire at the same time.  We currently expire both every 90 days, but they soon get out of sync.
Is there a way to change the password in AD and then pass it to the Iseries?
Or, is there a simple way to change the password in Mapics, similar to Ctrl-Alt-Dlt in AD?  Our Mapics users do not have access to green screen, only client.
