Thanks Mike and Martin,

I found CVS for MVS here:
http://cvsmvs.dccmn.com/

This version includes ASCII/EBCDIC stuff so maybe would be a better =
starting point.

I know there are other version control systems available, with their own =
advantages, however I am particularly interested in CVS due to =
interopability requirements.

Another avenue I've heard of is the Java client, there are two:
http://www.jcvs.org/
and
http://javacvs.netbeans.org/library/

I am assuming here that the AS/400 has a native java implementation?  I =
am less sure what file systems the java runtime and the java cvs client =
would support.

The company I work for is a member of various IBM partner programmes so =
I suspect eventually we should approach them to get some time on a =
machine...  But before I got there I wanted to get as much info as =
possible.

Hi Arthur

I have had a brief try with the AIX 5.2 version of CVS running in PASE =
but=20
hit a bunch of errors, which I think were be code page or ASCII/EBCDIC=20
related. I haven't yet had the chance to take it further, but it might =
be=20
worth pursuing. I've not heard of work on a native version :(
