(Most of the middle of sub-Saharan Africa is plateau-ish; you have to work at it to get below 2000 ft. Kenya has central and western highlands -- Nairobi and Kitale areas; Tanzania has southern and northern highlands -- Mbeya and Arusha/Moshi areas.) Yahoo's records-and-averages page [http://weather.yahoo.com/almanac/Arusha_TN_c.html#0] suggests that low 30Cs are normal highs for January. I woulda said high 20Cs, i.e. "hot but not overly", but shows what I know. For my money, Arusha climate is as good as it comes... (Folks, this is why this project *must succeed* -- we want *annual* conferences, *there*!) Will
