It's just a matter of what we want to "recommend" via the docs.
I favor consistency, both within the ARK culture (by recommending
*something*), and cross culturally (hence my preference for .ark_profile).
(In spite of my sharing your distaste for the _ underscore.)
You're not "messing with sidai stuff", but you are
"inheriting attributes and methods from sidai objects".
(Sample1 is sidai-style, essentially.)
At the least, you should elaborate on this a bit, telling the user not to
worry that he/she is about to sidai-fy his/her machine (a) at all or (b) to
any significant extent.

Yes, I'm going to change it to be more minimal.
Good. It will cause less apprehension, and be less work for the user
(than, like what I did, "commenting out" all but one--flex--of your ten
or so cases).
(Let me know if I've forgotten anything.)

Let me know if you'll have this "cleaned up" by tomorrow, and if so, I'll
give it another whirl.
