Details:

When running configure, the displayed text contained two interleaved messages.
Got:

checking whether to enable Valgrind on the unit tests... checking for
valgrind... valgrind
yes

instead of the probably intended:

checking whether to enable Valgrind on the unit tests... yes
checking for valgrind... valgrind
