Thank you, I am very grateful for your offer of help.  However...  My
interactions with Github have been a long catalogue of problems and at
least as far as BackupPC is concerned I remain unconvinced that Github
has a future.  I am very reluctant to put effort into anything that is
specifically Github-oriented.  I put a tarball (make -f MakeReal dist)
in the working directory here, would it be OK for you if I just commit
that tarball when the time comes?  (I can do that anytime but I wonder
if we shouldn't do some more testing first? :)
