Hello, Pre-release time has started for version 2.0.0. extract from the ChangeLog: - a configure script allows dar to compiler under Solaris - new option -H - dar code has been split to make the libdar library - an API to libdar is provided (version 1, version 2 is already under design thanks to feedback) - huge speed and memory optimization, thanks to 32 bits or 64 bits implementation, see notes about their own limitations. - special memory allocation to speed up the execution - several sample scripts and an open convention to share your scripts with other users. - archive over unstable media is possible thanks to Parchive, which is integrated through user scripts. and some other cosmetics changes. Before final release, I have to finish some part of the documentation, but if you already see spelling errors, you are welcome to report then as bug. :-) Pre-release source and binary are available here: http://dar.linux.free.fr/pre-release/ Cheers, Denis. ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf
