Creating a MC (midnight Commander) plugin for dar.

hi all,

I tried to create a plugin for dar in Midnight commander (mc), without 
success.
  Because I have some big backups running dar through sarab 
automatically that I would like to browse in case a user comes to me saying:

  "I lost these important files here, I don't know exactly their names, 
nor the exact path. But if you show me your backup, I'll find them quickly."

My question is: Is it teoretically possible to browse dar-slices? Maybe 
kdar (which I couldn't compile yet) is fine for this task?

Maybe a plugin for Far (windows) or Volkov Commander (DOS+windows) would 
be easier to create?
Any sugestions or help are welcome,
