Browsing a single slice is not possible but browsing a given archive (split or not in several slices) is (of course) possible, through the API and in different manners (sequential reading or dynamic tree exploration). I have recently updated the api_tutorial.html file about that last point, you can obtain a copy of it from CVS if you wish: http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/dar/dar/doc/api_tutorial.html?rev=1.15&view=log | Maybe | kdar (which I couldn't compile yet) is fine for this task? I think kdar is a fine tool if you just want to browse a given archive, command-line -l option in conjunction of -X -I options masks can also save you a lot of time (look also at the -as option). Last, dar_manager is not bad when you have a large set of archive to browse for a given restricted set of files. | | Maybe a plugin for Far (windows) or Volkov Commander (DOS+windows) would | be easier to create? I can't tell you, I don't know theses softwares, sorry. Be assured however that I will help you as much as I can concerning dar and libdar usage. | Any sugestions or help are welcome, | | Stefan | Cheers, Denis. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFDEIN0pC5CI8gYGlIRAiFaAKCblMAhCYiLk2mezZWsmjRF1U5X4QCgh4gy 4TFuiL/5gd6XyN72P5nRU68= =GIX4 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Development * Managing Projects & Teams * Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf
