Your patches will be merged to branch_2_3_x as it is not a new feature.
For what I have seen so far from the first patch, it does not hurt
neither nor it make the resulting code less stable. I must first manage
the encryption problem underlined by Dave Vasilevsky then I will merge
your patches to this same branch.
