I'm writing a webmin module that is an interface to retrieve files from a dar archive, more suitable for looking for an old version of a file, that for restoring whole archives. As soon as i have tested it enought I will let it available for everyone. Rather than using dar_manager (but i will use it in the future) I slap all files in a db and query the db, so that I can make any sort of search very quickly. When the user chooses the file to retrieve, the web interface executes dar to retrieve it (all archives on line in big disks). Very simple and effective for single files. When a directory is to be restored, I'd like to be able to extract from dar in tar format so that anybody can just click on the extracted file and have it on the pc, in a more common format. Would that be mis-using dar? How could I do it? Is it something that could be added to dar? TYA sandro PS: of course I can tar it afterwords, but that would take much more space... -- Sandro Dentella *:-) e-mail: [email protected] http://www.tksql.org TkSQL Home page - My GPL work ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by BEA Weblogic Workshop FREE Java Enterprise J2EE developer tools!
