This week I installed dar amd made my first backup. Listing and testing the
backup worked very well. However, in trying a restore operation, I had 2
discrepancies between the restored directory and the original.
The procedure I used is as followes:
I selected a directory in /home and renamed it, then I restored that
directory from the backup. Konqueror reported this information:
Original directory:
size 8.0KB
permissions drwxr-xr-x
283 items-280 files (1.7MB total) - 3 directories
Restored directory:
size 4.0KB
permissions drwxrwxrwx
283 items-280 files (1.7MB total) - 3 directories
The directory size and permissions are not the same. I can't find anything
in NOTES, TUTORIAL, or man dar to account for these differences.
Could you explain the reason for these differences?
