Hi Miek,

Thank you for your quick answer. 

Firstly  I do not use a virus scanner on this partition. 

Secondly, thank you for the link below. It confirms that the most probable 
cause to my problems is the rather poor design of vfat (mtime=ctime=atime).

I will try to use 
	explore2fs-1.00pre6b.exe
to access an ext2 partition from windows. If it works, then I will convert my 
FAT32 partition to an EXT2FS. By the way, does M$ provide a tool that 
performs such a task?
