I haven't tested this, but it would be interesting to use hdup's "tar"
option to point it at star.  We might then be able to use hdup's new
"tar option" keyword to select star's "-acl" and "-xattr" options for
archiving ACL's and extended attributes (such as those used by SELinux).

If someone has some time on their hands ;-) it would be interesting to
hear whether this idea has any value.
