request for help

I'll be happy to do this or have one of my guys do it. I only see one 
patch that doesn't contain perl. Do you want me to apply that patch only 
or convert the perl patch to sed, test it, and send that in. I think 
introducing perl in the middle of a bash script doesn't sound so clean. 
Either convert the whole thing to perl or keep perl out of it.

At any rate, I only found two patches. If that is it, I'll patch them 
and send it to you.
