RE: ITCAM Data collector config on jboss

I am sorry I think I made a confusion, the JAVA_HOME you mentioned is the 
JAVA_HOME of the JBoss app server that needs to be informed to the 
Config_DC GUI ? If that is the case them you should,  use the GUI and the 
Browse button to navigate (or input ) the to directory: 

/usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.6.0-openjdk.x86_64

Assuming that is the JDK that is sourced in the JBoss startup script. 

Also have you checked the installation manual ? There are two pre-config 
steps that need to be done, which involves manual editing of the JBoss 
startup script.

Hi,
 
I did that by creating JAVA_HOME in .bashrc and also specified the path 
while setting up configuration parameters using GUI.
It fails saying IBM Java is not the java used by jboss and it wants to 
specify the java used by jboss. So I give the path used by jboss which 
point openjdk. The installer appears not liking the output it gets when it 
runs java –version
Which gives the version as 
 
/usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.6.0-openjdk.x86_64/bin/java -version java version 
"1.6.0_24"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.11.4) 
(rhel-1.49.1.11.4.el6_3-x86_64) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.0-b12, 
mixed mode)

I think you need to point it to the JRE installed on ITM path.  For each 
arch ITM install a JRE under /opt/IBM/ITM

Been attempting to configure Data collector jboss 5 application server 
running on RHEL 6. Both DC and TEMA are at FP06 ( Desired level )
Since /etc/init.d/jboss is configured  for openjdk,  Having difficulty in 
setting up JAVA_HOME. Tried setting up in .bashrc but DC config installer 
tool neither recognizes IBM Java 7 and when given dir used by jboss script 
for starting jboss, installer fails to recognize openjdk

Any work around ?

This is output of alternatives and it does not list ibm  java 7 installed 
by me

There are 3 programs which provide 'java'.

  3           /usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.7.0-openjdk.x86_64/bin/java



The installer not happy with this output :
