It is a Perl program - essentially you get the source and can improve, 
debug, etc. I am sure Adam will help you [if technically possible] on that 
public wiki page. I haven't read the Perl script, but it might use tacmd 
functions that are not implemented until later.... or use the 
xx.environment  file to create overrides.

Perl is a fun development environment - although the regular expression 
area drives me up the wall regularly.

Unfortunately, we're still on 6.2.2 and it will be a while before moving 
to 6.3
 
But that login daemon does look very nice.
