**ANNOUNCE** RedHat RPMs for HylaFAX-4.1.8 now available

Folks,

iFAX Solutions (www.ifax.com) is pleased to announce the general
availability of Red Hat Linux packages for HylaFAX-4.1.8, including binary
RPMs for Fedora Core 1 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3. Please read this
entire email carefully before downloading the software - a few minutes spend
now could save you a world of hurt! You have been warned ;-)

The 4.1.7-1 RPM was the last one we released widely. Updates since then are
as follows (from the RPM's changelog):

Aside from the critical security fix of [Bug 468] and two new, vital fixes
that didn't make it into 4.1.8, we have chosen to include a very useful
re-engineering of the sequence numbers HylaFAX uses to keep track of job
IDs, log filenames, document filenames etc. No two sequences were alike,
ands the one for outbounds jobs wrapped somewhere in the 33,000 range - a
number many of our customers were hitting rather frequently. Sequences are
unified now, and they can grow much, much larger without wrapping. As a
consequence, you may see session logs with more 00000's in the filename and
assumptions you have made about JobIDs might no longer be true. Proceed with
caution if you rely on sequences heavily for integration with other
applications.

Please note that metamail is a prerequisite for installing these RPMS, even
though RedHat no longer supply it with their latest distros (RPM should
complain if you don't have it installed when  you try to install HylaFAX).
